Inevitable Implications of the Sexual Revolution and the Only Way Back
Something has happened to sexuality in the West which cannot now be undone without radical overhaul of how people think and live their lives.
There was an insightful article by Mary Harrington recently, where she highlighted what is really happening to sexuality in our time, and why.
The inevitable implications of the sexual revolution can only continue in its taboo-breaking trajectory. This necessitates the transgression of yet more moral, previously sacrosanct sexual boundaries, exacerbated by the sex/porn industries, even when these end up violating the original “T&Cs” of the sexual revolution, regarding the freedom and consent of women, and the previously unthinkable (but now increasingly normal) sexualisation of children.
Those who thought they could keep a moderate lid on this ill-fated mission of sexual exploration were very much mistaken. The jam jar has been opened, and it was assisted by many men who were only too happy to oblige the women who needed a little help. The lid is now all but gone. All that remains is the plastic film, with gaps and wasps aplenty. We can see what lies ahead. Many do not want to believe it, hoping against hope that “common sense” may somehow prevail. But why should it?
