There are many reasons a Christian might wish to avoid Twitter. The fear of losing your job as a result of what you say there (as happened to me just over a week ago) might be one of them.

Even amidst the oceanic array of social media platforms available today, Twitter seems to belong to its own universe, where different rules apply. It isn’t just the way people talk, or the abuse they give so freely, or the mob-threats which institutions feel compelled to react to so swiftly. It’s the fact that you feel yourself pulled into this strange world in strange ways. There is much that can go wrong. But if we’re serious about engaging hearts and minds in our culture today, it has to be worth the hassle.
